Ewa Walińska and Tomasz Wnuk-Pel

Ewa Walińska

Full Professor
University of Lodz

From 2008 she is Dean of Faculty of Management University of Lodz and from 2012 Head of Department of Accounting. Ewa Walińska got her PhD in 1994, Habilitation in 2004 and she is Full Professor from 2011. From 2014 Ewa Walińska is Chair of Commission of the Accounting Science operating in Lodz by Division of Polish Academy of Sciences – Lodz Division.
 
Her main research interests relate mainly to financial accounting with focus on alignment of Polish accounting law to the requirements of International Financial Reporting Standards (especially issues of financial reporting, relationships between the accounting law and the income tax law and their consequences for investment and financing decisions making and analysis of financial statements). She also did research in the area of management accounting.
 
Ewa Walińska cooperates with different training and consulting institutions, e.g. Wolters Kluwer Polska SA, Centrum Controllingu i Analiz Ekonomicznych Sp. z o.o., Akademia MDDP Sp. z o.o., Stowarzyszenie Księgowych w Polsce. She also participated in several projects related to design of management accounting systems and also adjusting of financial accounting systems to legal regulations (e.g. implementation of accounting policies in listed company – TP SA – the first in Polish business practice).

Tomasz Wnuk-Pel

Associate Professor
University of Lodz

He got PhD in 1998 and Habilitation in 2012 in the University of Lodz, Poland.
 
His research interests relate to methods of cost accounting, operational and strategic management accounting and especially diffusion of management accounting innovations and estimation of their implementation success. Tomasz Wnuk-Pel has published in many journals including Theoretical Journal of Accounting, Social Sciences, Comparative Economic Research, Eurasian Journal of Business and Economics.
 
Tomasz Wnuk-Pel has attended many international conferences being scientific committee member, session chair, discussant or presenter, e.g. Congresses of the European Accounting Association, Congresses of the Asia-Pacific Management Accounting Association, Annual Conferences for Management Accounting Research (WHU), World Congress of Accounting Educators and Researchers.
 
Tomasz Wnuk-Pel is a reviewer in several accounting journals, and also a member of Polish Accounting Association and European Accounting Association. He is a Board Member of Asia-Pacific Management Accounting Association.
 
Tomasz Wnuk-Pel is also Vice-president of RaFib Sp. z o.o., a consulting company, which, since 1993, specializes in designing and implementing modern management accounting methods.

Jan Alpenberg, Lina Dagilienė and Jaan Alver

Jan Alpenberg

Professor
Linnaeus University, Växjö, Sweden

Dr Jan Alpenberg is Dean for the Departments of Accounting, Logistics and Business Law and also a Senior Lecturer in Accounting and Finance at the School of Business & Economics, Linnaeus University, Växjö, Sweden. He has got a PhL in 1996 and a PhD in 2005 at Lund University, Sweden. Jan Alpenberg research interests concentrate on the diffusion of advanced management accounting innovations i.e. lean production systems, management control, capital budgeting and entrepreneurship.
 
Jan Alpenberg has international experience in research and teaching. Between 2005 and 2013 he was Associate Professor in Business, Tyndale University College, Toronto, Canada. He also was a visiting professor at the Brock University, St Catharines, Canada, Poznan University College of Business, Poznan, Poland and School of Business and Management of Technology, Belarus State University, Minsk, Belarus.
 
Jan Alpenberg is a member of Canadian Accounting Association, American Accounting Association, Society of Manufacturing Engineers (Toronto chapter), Swedish Academy of Business and Management and Swedish Association of Graduates in Business Administration and Economics. He is also a Board Member at the Asia-Pacific Management Accounting Association. Jan Alpenberg has broad practical experience. He has served as a consultant in the area of management accounting for many years and has participated in many projects for different organizations both in Sweden and in Canada.

Lina Dagilienė

Professor
Kaunas University of Technology, School of Economics and Business, Department of Accounting, Lithuania

Lina Dagilienė research interests are pretty relevant to the corporate accounting in general and specific subjects of traditional financial accounting, corporate valuation, and also social/environmental accounting and sustainability reporting. She also did research in the area of public sector accounting and is interested in interdisciplinary dimensions due to accounting science. Lina Dagilienė has published in many journals including Economics and Management, Social Research, Engineering Economics, International Journal of Social, Management, Economics and Business Engineering.
 
Lina Dagilienė has attended many international conferences being scientific committee member, session chair or presenter. Lina Dagilienė is a member of European Academy of Management (EURAM), Center for Corporate Social Responsibility, International Society for Business, Economics and Ethics (ISBEE) and European Accounting Association (EAA).
 
Lina Dagilienė has broad practical experience including work at the national audit company as assistant auditor and international business company „Eurobox Baltica“ as financial manager.

Jaan Alver

Full Professor
Tallinn University Technology (TUT), Estonia

Jaan Alver is Full Professor of Accounting. From 2003, he is a Director of Institute (Department) of Accounting and Head of the Chair of Management Accounting, Tallinn School of Economics and Business Administration, Tallinn University Technology (TUT), Estonia. Prior to joining TUT, Professor Alver spent eight years on the faculty at Estonian Business School and eleven years at University of Tartu.
 
Professor Alver received his PhD from the Institute of Economics of the Estonian Academy of Sciences and he is Full Professor from 1995. From 1993, he is a member of the Mother Tongue Society of the Estonian Academy of Sciences, from 2003 a member of the Professional Accreditation Committee of the Estonian Accounting Association and from 2002 an expert – member of the Latvian accreditation body of higher education institutions, colleges and study directions.
 
Professor Alver is a member of the European Accounting Association (EAA) and Editorial Board Member of Journal of Accounting, Ethics & Public Policy. His primary research interests include accounting terminology, international accounting, business analysis, accounting education and history of development of accounting. His publications include besides several articles and papers financial accounting and management accounting textbooks, Dictionary of Accounting Terms: English–Eesti–Français–Deutsch and Encyclopedia of Accounting and Finance.
